Honda Motor has developed a new direct injection petrol turbo engine for small to medium sized vehicles.
The VTEC Turbo uses variable valve motion technology with direct injection turbocharging, improved combustion and friction reduction to achieve claimed class leading output and emissions from smaller displacements.
It will be made in two, 1.5 and one litre versions and offered in future global models such as the new Jazz/Fit and a sporty version of the European Civic hatchback.
