SAIC has sold 4.01m vehicles in 2011, a growth of 11.9% from 2010, reports Xinhua news agency.
The report added that the company will launch a plug-in hybrid car and an electric car in 2012.
To improve the company’s innovation capabilities, SAIC set up research and development centers in Shanghai, Nanjing and Birmingham.
The growth in sales comes at a time, when auto sales in China slowed down after a record 32% growth in 2010.
