Honda Motor’s Indian subsidiary has resumed normal production that was disrupted due to the shortage of parts in the wake of Thai floods last year.

”We are delighted to announce we have resumed two-shift operations from today [15 February],” Honda Siel Cars India senior vice president Jnaneswar Sen said in a statement cited by Kyodo News.

The company will begin producing 370 cars a day and increase to 440, Sen said, adding he is confident of achieving peak output in March.

The company expects to clear most of its backlog for its mid-sized hatchback Brio within March and deliver cars to customers soon.

Production of the new City model has already been resumed and more than 1,500 cars were rolled out in January.

Production of the Jazz will begin before the end of this month, the statement said.
