Renault is declining to say when it will meet the three sacked executives in its alleged spy affair or comment on political remarks surrounding the matter.

Last week, Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn offered to meet Michel Balthazard, Bertrand Rochette and Mathieu Tenenbaum and committed himself to unspecified “reparations” for the “personal harm” suffered by the three and their families.

However, Renault declined to confirm when such a meeting would take place, except that it would be “as soon as possible.”

“It [meeting] will be as soon as possible,” a Renault spokeswoman in Paris told just-auto. “When you have meetings with former employees, you just don’t give the agenda to the media. It is a private meeting and we don’t give any timing.”

“Like we never gave the names of the three people. It is they who through their lawyers, expressed themselves.”

Renault is also keeping quiet on comments made by Industry Minister Eric Besson that he would not “destabilise” the manufacturer.

“As industry minister, I hear the voice of the people asking for punishment, but the industry minister’s greater concern at this time is not to destabilise Renault any further,” Besson is quoted by Reuters as telling French station RFI radio.

“We never comment on anything from politicians, so I would rather not give any position on that,” added the Renault spokeswoman.
