Denso International America says production has partly restarted in Japan following the earthquake and has accounted safely for four missing employees.
Last week Denso said it had “basically suspended” manufacture, but has subsequently resumed limited production, while confirming the safety of its missing staff.

“A portion of our production has started in Japan based on customer operations,” a Denso International America spokeswoman in Michigan told just-auto. “I don’t [know] that proportion.
“We are moving products out of Japan. Like any other supplier we are gathering information, investigating potential issues with the Japanese supply chain. We are in regular communication with our customers and our suppliers regarding the situation.”
For Denso’s North America operation, which has not been impacted so far by the events in Japan, Denso has established a ‘task team’ to assess information on daily basis, but the spokeswoman conceded: “This is a fluid situation.”
Denso confirmed all four missing employees had been found safe.
