Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn has said that around forty component suppliers in Japan remain in ‘difficulty’.
Electronic components, plastics and rubber are in short supply and will affect Japanese automakers and companies outside the country, Ghosn said in a telephone interview with Bloomberg.
He also said that carmakers are jointly offering support to suppliers via the trade association JAMA.

Nissan declined to name the forty suppliers, the report added.
The carmaker is considering shipping engines from Tennessee to Japan, Nissan has also said.
“It will take some time at Iwaki to recover,” said Ghosn.
Ghosn also said the company has no plans to shift vehicle production to other countries.
