New vehicles sales by Toyota in China tumbled 23.5% year on year to 48,700 units in April as it faced difficulty procuring parts from Japan for assembling cars in the wake of the 11 March earthquake and tsunami, its local subsidiary said.
The major carmaker is now scrambling to get its production back to pre-quake level by securing alternative parts, it told Kyodo News.
