Toyota has said it expects delivery of its new Prius Alpha model in Japan to be delayed due to the impact of the 11 March earthquake but the automaker’s US unit said the Prius v is still on target for a autumn launch there.
The Nikkei quoted a Toyota official as saying that the numer of pre-orders for the hybrid minivan was 25,000 units in April but the automaker’s production is still in the process of recovery and delivery to some customers may be pushed back to April 2012, Dow Jones reported.
Meanwhile, Toyota Motor Sales USA (TMS) said the Prius v is still on track for delivery to US customers this autumn.
