Ford said on Tuesday US sales were up 7% so far this year, with 1.14m vehicles sold while June sales also increased 7% from last year, with 207,759 vehicles sold.

Sales are increasing across the company’s lineup – with cars up 3%, utilities up 9% and trucks up 9% year to date.
In June, the Escape SUV set an any-month record – with sales up 28% – while the Fusion car line set a record for June. Explorer SUV sales were up 35% from last year and F-Series truck sales were up 11%, topping 50,000 for the first June in five years, and reflecting an industry-wide resurgence in truck sales after the doldrums of 2008/9.
