European automotive supplier body, CLEPA, is urging PSA Peugeot Citroen and General Motors to provide more clarity on their proposed alliance that could see both automakers co-operate in multiple disciplines.
The announcement of the PSA-GM tie-up was first made five months ago, but CLEPA is looking for more meat on the bones of the alliance to be able to advise its members.

“Suppliers need clarity about the alliance, because until now, details are not very clear,” CLEPA CEO, Jean-Marc Gales told just-auto from Munich.
“That has not been forthcoming so far. I acknowledge it takes a bit of time to do that.”
Germany’s Cartel Office – the Bundeskartellamt – said only recently it would take until the end of September before issuing a decision on the PSA-GM tie up.
Although GM insists the Bundeskartellamt “does not see any competition law issues,” the German body has decided to look in depth into the joint venture, which falls under its jurisdiction rather than authorities in Brussels.
