Vehicle production in China in June slipped 2.37% from the previous month to 1.5m units but that represented an increase of 9.09% over the same month last year, figures from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) show.
The data takes production for the first six months of the year to 9.5m units, an increase of 4.08% over the first six months of 2011.

Meanwhile, sales in June fell 1.66% from May to 1.57m units representing a 9.86% increase over June 2011 and taking sales for the first six months to 9.6m vehicles, up 2.93% from the same period last year. Of those sales, 7.6m were passenger vehicles, a 7.08% year-on-year increase, and 1.9m were commercial vehicles, a decrease of 10.4%.
