PACCAR has announced plans to build a US$200m DAF Brazil assembly plant on a 500-acre site in the city of Ponta Grossa in the state of Paraná, Brazil.

Construction of the 330,000 sq ft factory begins this year for completion in 2013.

The plant will assemble DAF LF, CF and XF models. The current Brazil market for trucks over six tons is 170,000 units and that is expected to grow.
