Ford sales in China fell 7% to 34,916 units in August, the first year on year fall this year.

Year to date sales were up 11% to 341,746 wholesale units.

Between January and August 2011, sales of Ford-brand vehicles by Changan Ford Mazda Automobile (CFMA), the automaker’s passenger vehicle joint venture, grew 7% to 205,855 units. Total CFMA sales were 25,528 vehicles in August, and 258,362 vehicles year to date, a 3% increase year on year. 

Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC), the commercial vehicle venture, sold 133,810 wholesale units so far this year, 14% up year on year. JMC sold 14,497 wholesale units in August.
