New vehicle sales in Indonesia increased by over 13% to 73,279 units in August, from 64,762 units a year earlier, according to data released by industry association Gaikindo.
Compared with the previous month, sales were down by 18%, with fewer working days due to the Idul Fitri holidays.

Cumulative sales for the January-August period increased by almost 18% to 579,620 units, compared with the 491,522 vehicles sold in the same period of the previous year. The association now expects full-year sales to amount to around 850,000 units this year.
