Isuzu is to build a new plant in eastern Thailand to produce pickup trucks, and is looking to establish the country as its base for export operations.
The new facility, in one of the world’s largest pick-up markets, will be constructed on the premises of Isuzu’s existing plant in Chachoengsao Province and is scheduled to begin operating in October 2012.

The Japanese company said it plans to invest JPY18bn (US$23.5m) in the new plant which boost Isuzu’s capacity in Thailand to 400,000 pick-ups a year.
