Volkswagen continued to increase sales through September reporting an increase of 13.7% for its VW brand cars over the same month a year ago to 472,100 vehicles.

In the first three quarters, VW brand volumes rose 12.3% to over 3.81m vehicles with growth recorded in almost all markets.
Central and eastern Europe saw an increase of 46%, while VW enjoyed a 22% jump in North America.
Western Europe and South America showed the weakest gains at 4.2% and 6.1% respectively.
In China, now VW’s largest single market, sales rose 11% to 1.29m vehicles.
