Toyota on Friday announced further production cuts worldwide as a result of parts shortages caused by flooding in Thailand.
It had earlier reduced production hours at vehicle plants in Japan between 24 October and 5 November and will now “adjust output” from 7-12 November “based on an ongoing assessment of the parts supply situation at each individual production line”.

Meanwhile, Toyota Motor Thailand (TMT) has extended the production halt at its Samrong, Gateway and Ban Pho plants – in place since 10 October – to 13 November though the automaker noted the floods have had no physical impact on the plants.
Other assembly plants in South Africa, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Pakistan and Malaysia will alter output during the week starting 7 November.
Earlier this week, Toyota Engineering & Manufacturing North America said all North American vehicle assembly plants would suspend overtime and Saturday production until 13 November.
