Kia Motors sold 216,603 vehicles during October, a year-on-year increase of 18.8%, posting strong double digit increases in many of its major sales regions.

Sales rose 41.4% in China to 44,009 units, 35.4% in Europe to 45,810 and 20.1% in North America to 42,870.

But domestic sales in South Korea were off 4.3% to 41,302 units.

Through the first 10 months of 2011, Kia’s global sales have increased 18.2% year-on-year to 2,044,225 units. North America has experienced the highest gain to date, up 33.5% to 461,945.

Best selling model in overseas markets in October was the newly redesigned B-segment Rio (K2 in China) with 33,797 sales. The Sportage compact SUV was next with 30,622 units delivered.
