Nissan Mexicana – source of the Versa [Tiida] and Sentra models sold in the US and Canada – produced 60,723 units in August, the largest monthly output in the unit’s 50-year history.
August output was up 52% year on year and Nissan accounted for 27.4% of total vehicles produced in Mexico in August.

Nissan claimed to have out-produced its nearest competitor by 10,849 units in August.
Its Mexican output for the first eight months of 2011 was up 18.9% to 382,250 units, accounting for a 22.7% share of total industry output.
The carmaker now expects to produce over 600,000 units im the fiscal year ending 31 March 2012.
Nissan Mexicana will add a third shift at its Cuernavaca plant from next January.
