Nissan Motor is will recalling 118,000 Juke compact sport-utility vehicles worldwide to deal with potentially faulty door locks and turbochargers.
Kyodo News said 42,041 of the affected cars, built between May last year and July this year, are in Japan.

The doors of the cars may not shut properly if water seeps in and becomes frozen, according to the ministry of transport there.
Of these, 3,952 vehicles equipped with turbo engines might malfunction due to faulty air supply-measuring sensors, said the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
A Nissan spokeswoman in the UK said the door problem in Europe only affected left hand drive cars sold in cold countries.
Most Jukes sold by Nissan Europe are built in the automaker’s plant in north-east England but the turbo petrol models are imported from Japan.

The repair, taking under 30 minutes, requires re-fitting an air inlet tube which may come loose, affecting boost pressure measurement, and possibly causing the engine to stall.
