The original equipment (OE) tyres were specifically designed for the small car and met quality control and technology standards specified by the Japanese carmaker.

The iQ, powered either by a small 1-litre or 1.3-litre engine, was first introduced at the 2008 Geneva auto show and is currently sold in Japan, Europe and North America.
“Hankook secured the supply deal because it met all the requirements set by Toyota,” the company told Yonhap news agency. It said the OE tyre supply contract marks a milestone for the tyremaker.
“With the production and supply of tyres to Toyota, Hankook now sells products to all of the world’s top five automakers,” it said.
Besides Toyota, Hankook currently supplies tyres to General Motors, Volkswagen, Renault-Nissan and Hyundai Motor.
