Audi has announced a 2.0-litre turbo engine and all-wheel drive for the A1. Both are offered for the first time in the car and come as standard in a new derivative, the limited edition A1 quattro.
Only 333 units of the most powerful A1 yet will be built, all of them with left-hand drive. The car’s engine produces a claimed 256hp (188kW). In 2010, the company built 333 units of another high performance model: the R8 GT.
The quattro is differentiated from other three-door A1s by its white alloy wheels, bigger brakes, lowered suspension, tinted LED rear lights and a roof spoiler.
