Japan’s new vehicle sales in January rose 36.8% year on year to 238,362 units for the sixth consecutive month of growth, a dealers group said.

Sales of passenger cars, not including minivehicles, surged 42.8% to 219,844 units, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association repported.
