Just days after launching a new B-segment two-seat coupe cabriolet called the Wind, that looks like an ideal replacement for GM’s now defunct Opel/Vauxhall Tigra, Renault has revealed its redesigned C-segment Mégane four-seat drop-top – the range’s sixth body style. Like its predecessor the latest car has a large, folding, electro-hydraulic, two-piece, glass roof.

It also has a fixed glass wind deflector behind the rear head restraints, drives and rides better thanks to a stiffer chassis and a new electric power steering system and will come with a wide choice of petrol and diesel engines, including units which can be ordered with new automatic EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) or CVT transmissions.

The new coupé-cabriolet is manufactured alongside the Megane-derived Scénic and Grand Scénic at Renault’s Douai plant in France which also built the previous generation.

The Wind will be assembled in Slovenia.
