Tata Motors’ group global sales almost doubled in January, growing 93% over year-ago levels to 85,714 units. This growth has taken fiscal year-to-date (April 2009–January 2010) sales to 681,480, up 13% year on year.
The figures include Jaguar Land Rover whose global sales grew by 195% to 16,269 units. Jaguar sales for the month were 2,974, up 122%, while Land Rover sales were 13,295, up 219%.

Cumulative sales of Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal year were 153,247, 20% lower. Cumulative sales of Jaguar were down 30% to 39,484 while cumulative sales of Land Rover were down 16% to 113,763.
Commercial vehicles sales – Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera – were up 115% to 40,334. Cumulative sales for the fiscal year were up 32% to 322,470.
Passenger vehicle sales rose 76% to 45,380. Cumulative sales for the fiscal year were off just 0.31% to 359,010.
