Renault dealerships in Mexico City and Guadalajara will be officially opened this
week, even though some of the French car maker’s Scenic minivan models have already
been sold, according to a report in Mexican financial daily El Economista.

Patrice Ratti, who heads up Renault’s local subsidiary, said the company received
122 orders in January and 177 in February, El Economista auto industry columnist
Guillermo Lira reported.

Ratti said Renault was pleased with the level of demand during its first weeks
in Mexico, after an absence of 15 years.

Official Renault sales in Mexico during February are expected to top 200 units,
Lira reported.
