Nisshinbo Industries and Continental Teves are to start producing active ABS brake
speed sensors in China.
The two companies, which set up a merged operation called CTC, in Japan last
December, plan to make a Nisshinbo group sensor company in China a subsidiary
of CTC to quickly develop next-generation products.

CTC expects demand for speed sensors, especially active sensors, to increase
sharply and wants to have a manufacturing system that can quickly commence active
sensor output under its direct control.
The Chinese sensor company is currently managed by Nagano Japan Radio in the
Nisshinbo group and produces 2.8 million units passive sensor units a year.
The sensors are supplied to Nisshinbo and vehicle makers.
Continental Teves currently has plants in Hungary and Mexico and establishment
of this new subsidiary gives it direct access to the three largest global markets.
