Vehicle sales in the Philippines declined 9% in April according to industry sources.
Sales in April were 9,988 units, down 9% on the same month last year, according to a statement by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association.
For the four months to April, industry sales were 38,552 units, down 3.3% on the same period last year.
CAMPI is still forecasting vehicle sales of 130,000 units for the year. Last year sales reached 124,449 units. Local analysts say the Philippines market is holding up relatively well, despite April’s decrease, which also reflects a lower number of working days this year.
