US auto dealers are to visit Capitol Hill today (27 April) looking for an oversight exemption according to American reports.

Some 100 dealers are believed to be opposing plans from a potential new consumer watchdog agency and are in the US capital to put forward their views.

American media are reporting the White House is against plans by auto dealers to seek exemption from the oversight of a financial protection body.

It is thought Senator Sam Brownback – a republican from Kansas – is backing the dealers.
