Volumes declined 6.1% to 82,800 vehicles in May, due to double-digit declines in major markets such as western Europe and the United States, Reuters reported.
Audi sold 12,425 units in China last month, 28% more than a year earlier and the third consecutive record month there.
China accounted for the bulk of the 15,650 cars sold in Asia-Pacific, where Audi also posted a substantial year-on-year gain in Australia and South Korea. In the first five months of the year, Audi posted a 12.1% decline in cumulative sales to 374,750 vehicles.
