THE EUROPEAN Union Council of Ministers has voted to make a series of automobile
standards developed by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe compulsory
across the EU. The detailed standards relate to the manufacture of propulsion
systems for liquid petroleum gas, headlamps and spotlights, with symmetric and
asymmetric beams.
