Handelsblatt cited remarks by Bernd Bohr, head of Bosch’s automotive business.
The newspaper said that Fiat does not plan to develop its own electric engine and that it is the first potential candidate for Bosch’s new engines.
Fiat Deutschland’s CEO Manfred Kantner said that Bosch was not the only potential supplier that Fiat is negotiating with.
By 2020 the electric engine will exist only as a niche, so expectations should not be too high, Bohr said.
