Consolidated DaimlerChrysler July sales in the United States totaled 216,473 units and were driven by the continued strong sales of the Chrysler brand and E-Class sales for the Mercedes-Benz brand.

Overall sales were down 12 percent compared with July 1999 sales of 256,444. Freightliner reported July sales of 9,716 units compared with July 1999 sales of 13,024.
