Russia’s biggest truck maker, Kamaz, has said it will suspend production for the entire month of August due to falling demand for trucks, the company has said in a statement.
The latest suspension until September follows an earlier announcement that production would be halted through July. Production was suspended on the company’s main assembly line after Kamaz fulfilled its orders for the month of June.
The company has suspended production several times this year due to a decline in demand for trucks in Russia’s recession-hit economy.
In 2008, Kamaz produced 51,005 trucks.
