Russian car output rose about 70% year on year to 599,000 units in January–July, the industry and trade ministry said in a report.

Output of foreign brand cars increased about 90% to 309,400 units in the period. Companies operating under industrial assembly agreements with Russia produced 202,800 cars in the period, up about 70%. Output of Russian brand cars rose about 60% to 289,600 units.
Truck output rose about 50% to 74,600 with foreign brand trucks up 32.5% to 6,900 units.
Bus output was up 39.4% to 19,100 units. Foreign brand bus output rose about 70% to 3,100 units.
In 2009, Russia’s car output fell 59.4% to 597,000 units.
