Klaus-Gerhard Wolpert, product chief for the Porsche Cayenne, has been appointed head of the product planning and management at partner Volkswagen, according to an unconfirmed report in Financial Times Deutschland.

Neither company commented on the report. FTD did not say when Wolpert would move but the current head of product planning at VW, Matthias Mueller, will become chief executive at Porsche on 1 October.
