Honda Siel Cars India will start exporting engine parts to parent Honda Motor in Japan from next month.

Connecting rods and crankshafts would be shipped from Honda’s second factory in the northwestern state of Rajasthan, the automaker said. It has a second factory in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh.

Honda Siel uses the parts in its locally-made Jazz hatchback and City sedan.

“Honda Siel has bagged the export order due to a rapid increase in the sale of small cars in Japan, which has led to a capacity constraint at Honda facilities for these components,” the company said, according to Dow Jones.

It will produce 54,000 sets of the parts for export over six months.
