Faurecia says it expects an answer from European authorities by the end of the month for its proposal to acquire tier one supplier Plastal Spain.
The deal is expected to receive attention from the anti-trust authorities in Brussels now the summer holiday season in Europe has finished.

“We expect to have the answer by the end of the month,” a Faurecia spokesman in Paris told just-auto. “We are going through the Brussels procedure.
“We had a minor bumper business in Spain and it was a further opportunity after the German [Plastal] deal. There was a clause in the German deal to also have [the] right to exercise an option to purchase Spain until 30 June.”
Faurecia added Plastal was a key supplier to European OEMs, for example Opel.
“We see no objections to this going through,” added the Faurecia spokesman.
