The Sevel (Società Europea Veicoli Leggeri) factory in Val di Sangro, Italy, a joint venture between Fiat and PSA-Citroen, has built its four millionth vehicle, a Fiat Ducato Maxi with a total gross weight of 3.5 tonnes, equipped with the three-litre Multijet engine and automated manual transmission.

Fitted with ESP, cruise control, bi-link rear suspension system, rear doors opening 270°, automatic climate control and radio with CD player, the vehicle was purchased by a German customer who will take delivery during the upcoming IAA commercial vehicle show in Hannover, Germany, scheduled for 23-30 September.
Sevel is the largest European factory producing medium-large vans, while the Ducato X250 family is the top seller of its segment in Europe with over 30% of the market. The Ducato booked 53,500 registrations during the first six months this year, taking its European share to 19.2%, up from 15.1% in 2006.
