Ford and Chinese joint venture partners Changan and Mazda will on Friday reveal plans for a third car manufacturing plant, a media report said on Tuesday.

Ford already makes Focus, Fiesta and Mondeo car models and Transit vans in China with Chongqing Changan Automobile and Mazda Motor. Mazda and Volvo cars are also assembled locally.

The new plant, in the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing, will have annual production capacity of at least 150,000 units per year, adding to Ford’s current car manufacturing capacity in China of 447,000 units, an unnamed source told Reuters.

No other details were available and Ford and the joint venture both declined to comment.
