Global Vehicles insists it is confident of winning its dispute with Mahindra and Mahindra as both sides in the import spat adopt increasingly entrenched positions.
The US company insists it will win its case to import a US$35m order for TR20 and TR40 pick-ups, which it says is now before the United States District Court Northern District of Georgia.

“We are very confident of winning – we have the least complicated argument,” a Global Vehicles spokesman in the US told just-auto. “Mahindra has become very good at rejecting contracts.
“Global Vehicles has a valid contract and soon we hope either an arbitrator or a federal judge will take statements under oath and we expect to be able to proceed with this as usual.”
Mahindra confirmed earlier today (28 September) it had rejected the order from Global Vehicles, accusing the importer of “PR theatrics” in a raising of the business temperature.
“We have been saying it finished on 11 June – this order they [Global Vehicles] has placed is invalid,” a Mahindra spokeswoman in India told just-auto.
“I don’t have any further information to [today’s] statement that we issued.”
The Indian automaker now says it will contact US dealers to “make other arrangements for distribution”.
Global Vehicles added Mahindra’s statement “laid bare” the potential to “pick and choose” among dealers.
