Iran Khodro (IKCO) says it is aiming to reduce fuel consumption from its CNG and TU5 powertrains from 7.2L/100km to 5L/100km.
Although no specific date has been given, IKCO deputy CEO Javad Soleimani maintained the the fuel reduction was one of the Iranian automaker’s primary goals.

“The average fuel consumption of IKCO products is currently 7.2 L/100 km that the company intends to reduce to five,” he said.
Soleimani added customers would see a a dramatic improvement in quality following detailed work on parts, products and after-sales service.
“All the quality processes are carefully examined and we hope customers will witness a leap forward in IKCO’s products and services quality pretty soon,” he said.
Soleimani claimed nearly 160 quality improvement projects will be implemented by year-end and that validation had come from Iran Standard and Quality Inspection.
The deputy CEO added IKCO’s Samand hybrid, in prototype phase and manufactured domestically, is slated for production following testing during the next three months.
Equally, Soleimani noted nearly 97% of parts required for the Peugeot 206 are due to be localised by the end of the year.
