Toyota Motor plans to produce the Prius hybrid model in Thailand, possibly from next year, following its launch at the Bangkok motor show in November. Thailand will become the third country to produce the model, after Japan and China.
The petrol-electric car will join the Camry hybrid which is also produced in Thailand. It will be sold locally and also exported to neighbouring markets. Batteries and engines will be imported from Japan.
