The Russian carmaker said in a statement that it would check the brakes of 11,700 Lada Kalina, Priora and 4×4 models.
Tests carried out by the company have shown a possible defect in the vacuum brake booster in some cars, which could lead to excessive braking when the pedal is pressed. AvtoVAZ said the defect has been corrected by component supplier Dimitrovgrad Automobile.
AvtoVAZ has already informed all Lada dealers about the tests and plans to inform car owners and, if necessary, change components, the company said.
