The 41st show is being held at the Makuhari Messe convention centre on the outskirts of Tokyo, with 109 companies taking part, down from 241 in the previous show in 2007.

The biennial event attracted as many as 2,018,500 visitors in 1991. A total of 1,425,800 people visited the 2007 show.
