It has aleady announced battery plants in Japan, UK, Portugal and the United States. Speaking at a management forum in Tokyo, Carlos Ghosn said: “”You can suspect that France is also a place where we are going to build some batteries.”
The alliance aims to take leadership in the zero-emission electric vehicle field with a global roll-out of battery-run cars by 2012. It also targets EVs comprising 10% of its total production by 2020.
