The head of Volkswagen’s Czech unit Skoda Auto has told a local paper the automaker plans to double revenue over the next five years. Skoda had previously said it wanted to double sales within a decade.
“We assume that next year the global upturn will reach 4%,” Skoda chairman Winfried Vahland told Hospodarske Noviny, according to Reuters.

“Our resolve is that we will grow faster than the world so our sales will (grow) more than 4%. The growth will come from four regions which [are] Europe, Russia, India and China,” he added.
The paper also said Skoda sales would grow 10% to 750,000 cars this year with 780,000 expected in 2011.
It hopes to make 1.5m by 2016, Hospodarske Noviny reported.
