Volvo is considering building vehicles in North America because of the weak dollar, according to the Ford unit’s president and chief executive Fredrik Arp.

“The North American market continues to be difficult for Volvo because of the dollar decline,” Arp told Reuters at the Detroit motor show.


He told the news agency producing locally is one way to counter the falling value of the US dollar.


“It’s an alternative,” Arp told Reuters. “We are into analytical phase now. We are studying (the option).”
