Ford, in materials for a presentation to analysts in Detroit, also said it plans to decentralise its North American marketing and sales spending, Reuters reported.
The news agency said the automaker has already cut more than a 120 Ford, Lincoln-Mercury dealers in the past couple of years from 4,300 in the US when the plans were announced in 2006.
