Toyota GB has upgraded the specification of its 1.3-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel Yaris SR including a unique Toyota-branded touch-screen TomTom satellite navigation/audio system which is both built-in and fully portable.
The system also has Bluetooth connectivity and USB connection for MP3 players.
A Toyota GB spokesman said Netherlands-based TomTom developed the bespoke system in conjunction with Toyota Motor Europe in Belgium.
The unit is installed in a double-DIN opening in the modified centre stack; a similar fitting is used for the OEM audio systems available for Yaris models sold in North America while other European Yaris models have different factory-fitted audio units or a combined monochrome-screen navigator/audio system.
Toyota said the removable TomTom satellite navigation unit is both a first in the B segment and exclusive to the brand.
